Dr. Matt Sommerville, Director, is a development professional with 20 years of experience in bridging local, national and international policy frameworks to realize sustainable and scalable impacts from the community level up. Dr. Sommerville has led multi-country land and resource governance programs for USAID focused on Africa and Southeast Asia, including multi-year implementation partnerships in Zambia, Madagascar, Malawi, Mozambique, DRC, Liberia, Ghana, Vietnam, India and Myanmar.
Dr. Amanda Van Dellen is a conservation biologist with expertise in ecology and habitat restoration. Dr. Van Dellen brings quantitative survey design and evaluation methods to the Andava team, leading on habitat and species management planning. Dr. Van Dellen is also a skilled educator and science communicator.
Charles Kayenda is a physical planner and leads data collection and analysis for Andava's research in Malawi. Charles possesses a keen eye for detail and leads survey teams that collect high quality quantitative data as well as nuanced stories of qualitative impact.
